What Is The Ameri-Thon Custom Production Flight Program?

Ameridarts started our custom, production flight program to help our dealers expand upon their player base by offering their own designs of flights utilizing the technology we use to create the Ameri-Thon Brand Dart Flights. Although this service was intended for our current and future resellers of the Ameri-Thon Brand, we have been asked by countless other firms to make special flights for them. As America's only producer of dart flights, we attempt to accommodate the entire market as we can. So far, so good!

How Can I Become An Ameri-Thon Dealer And Take Advantage Of Dealer Pricing?

It is really very simple to become an Ameri-Thon Dealer! If you wish to become a dealer AND take advantage of dealer pricing on custom flights, all we ask is that you place an initial order of $250.00 worth of our regular stock flights and you are ready to go! Once you are established as an Ameri-Thon dealer, you can take advantage of this price schedule, either now or later.

Printing Dart Flights Is An Art!

The process we use to print dart flights utilizes a process known as flexographic printing. It is basically the same process that is used to print packaging labels, bottle wraps and other flexible items we all use every day.

Flexo, as it is also known, is based upon using flexible, photo-polymer printing plates wrapped around gear driven, aluminum plate cylinders combined with ecologically friendly, water-based inks specially formulated by our ink supplier for printing on polyester films. These inks yield a very durable image and are resistant to light, liquids, abrasion and heat. Our competitors have traditionally used inks that are NOT light resistant and fade, often times, before they are sold at retail. Such fading has plagued the dart retailer for decades. Our flights, many of which are stored in direct sunlight, simply do not fade under normal circumstances. We do it right!

To make the process easier to understand, imagine a rotary rubber stamp printing on rolls of plastic 2000 feet long (about 4000 sets of flights per roll). At top speed, our press is capable of printing 300 lineal feet per minute, or 600 sets of flights per minute.

Flexo imprinting dart flights also requires specialized tooling, designed by AmeriDarts and made by Rotometrics, Inc. to unbelievably tight tolerances, that makes perfect assembly of the flights and alignment of the images to each other possible. That is why you can take a flight, open it to its usable form and each image aligns to the panel adjacent to it...again, perfectly! It truly is an art and is just one reason Ameridarts is the only U.S.-based dart flight manufacturer.

Pricing Categories

We have two categories of pricing for our custom production flight program. One category being for those in the "trade", such as Ameri-Thon Dealers, dart manufacturing firms, etc., and the other being for non-trade applications or firms, such as advertising agencies or other "corporate identity-related" firms or individuals. For simplicity's sake, we'll list these categories as Ameri-Thon Dealers and Non-Ameri-Thon Dealers.

Printing, Laminating and Punching of Ameri-Thon Quality Dart Flights

Flexographic Printing Plates

Our flexographic plates are made in-house, on highly specialized equipment designed and built by AmeriDarts, and are produced on high quality photo-polymer plate materials for long life and durability. Included in the prices are the costs for negative preparation, artwork and trapping modifications. Due to the proprietary nature of our flight printing and manufacturing processes, all negatives and plates used to print custom production flights are the property of the customer, per normal printing trade customs, but must remain in the possession of AmeriDarts. As property of the customer, no plates, paid for by the customer, will be used to create flights for anyone other than the owner of those plates. Plates are subject to disposal if not re-used within two years of original date of order.

Flexographic Plating Charges

Our plating charges are based upon the number of plates per specific job. As we can imprint in up to three colors, that is how the pricing is broken down.

Customer Submitted Artwork Requirements

Artwork for flexographic imaging is to be supplied in Adobe IllustratorTM (version 8 or later) "vector" format. No pixel-based images (PhotoshopTM, etc.) will be accepted without previous arrangement. Ameridarts will supply files that can be used to format artwork that exactly matches our punch shapes upon request and can be sent to the customer via email.
